Text with the photo: Fox House Inn Fox House, Hathersage Rd Longshaw Dating back to around 1773, the Fox House, a 20 minute taxi ride from Sheffield city centre, is one of the highest pubs in Yorkshire, at 1,132 foot above sea level. It was famous as a calling place for carrier carts and stagecoaches in the past, but equally so for illegally serving wagon drivers during "the small hours". Quality cask conditioned ales and wines from around the world are available at the Fox House and the pub takes pride in its quality of food, offering a wide and varied menu all day throughout the week. The 11 bedrooms are decorated to the style of the period and each has its own individual character. All are en suite. Prior room reservation is recommended as the hotel is popular.
